Hôm 2/7, dự án điện ảnh Hoàng hậu cuối cùng gây chú ý với sự tái xuất của Tăng Thanh Hà sau 13 năm. Vai Nam Phương Hoàng hậu của "ngọc nữ màn ảnh" nhận nhiều ý kiến trái chiều về ngoại hình, trong đó một số khán giả cho rằng Nàng Mơ - top 6 Vietnam's Next Top Model 2025, diễn viên phim Thế hệ kỳ tích - có diện mạo gần giống hơn nhân vật hơn.
Nàng Mơ được một số khán giả so sánh, cho rằng hợp vai Nam Phương hoàng hậu hơn Tăng Thanh Hà.
Trò chuyện với Ngôi Sao, Nàng Mơ tiết lộ cô từng tham gia casting dự án với mong muốn thử sức nhiều hơn là đặt kỳ vọng giành được vai chính. Người đẹp hoàn toàn tôn trọng quyết định của êkíp, đồng thời tin rằng đạo diễn có những tiêu chí riêng khi lựa chọn diễn viên.
"Tôi nghĩ mọi người hay nhìn vào ngoại hình, nhưng một vai diễn không chỉ cần giống về diện mạo. Điều quan trọng còn là diễn xuất và việc đạo diễn có cảm thấy người đó chính là nhân vật mình tìm kiếm hay không", cô nói.
Nàng Mơ phủ nhận việc đi thử vai vì nghĩ mình giống Nam Phương Hoàng hậu, mà xem đây là cơ hội học hỏi và tích lũy kinh nghiệm. Theo người đẹp, việc đạo diễn chọn Tăng Thanh Hà là hoàn toàn có cơ sở. "Chị Hà đã có nhiều năm kinh nghiệm làm nghệ thuật. Việc chị đem lại cảm giác đúng với nhân vật cho đạo diễn chắc chắn sẽ hơn một người mới như tôi", mỹ nhân sinh năm 2006 nói.

Tại buổi casting diễn ra năm ngoái, dù đăng ký thử vai Nam Phương Hoàng hậu, Nàng Mơ lại được đạo diễn chuyển sang đọc kịch bản của nhân vật Lý Lệ Hà. Cô kể lại, vì lúc đó đạo diễn nhận định gương mặt cô khá sắc sảo, chưa toát lên nét nhu mì của Nam Phương hoàng hậu, cùng với việc cô không thoại được bằng giọng Nam nên đạo diễn cho cô casting vai "tình địch".
Nàng Mơ cho biết buổi casting gồm nhiều vòng, từ kiểm tra nhân trắc học, hỏi về khả năng khiêu vũ, tiếng Pháp cho đến phần đọc kịch bản. Sau khoảng 10-15 phút nghiên cứu lời thoại, các ứng viên sẽ bước vào phần diễn xuất. Dù không được nhận vai, người mẫu nói không buồn vì nhận thức được bản thân còn nhiều thiếu sót trong diễn xuất. Từng tham gia phim Thế hệ kỳ tích, cô cho rằng mình vẫn chỉ là người mới và còn phải học hỏi rất nhiều vì chưa được đào tạo bài bản.
